Mythological Journal Page

My latest work, for one of the artist's in my round robin journal group, was chosen to fit her theme of Legends & Myths
. She wanted a good story and is partial to winged creatures. Pegasus seemed like the perfect choice. For the calligraphy I used walnut ink in her handmade book along with colored pencils and gold gouache. This was a fun theme and I really enjoyed doing the uncial lettering which I haven't done in quite some time.

  2. Wonderful!!!!! I love it and love those uncial letterforms. I need to practice my uncials, and my copperplate, and my foundational,my Romans (especially my Romans!) and...on and on!

  3. Beautiful letters! Hand lettered pages have such character to them - they are so much more appealing than mass produced text that we're all so used to!

  8. Ha - we seem to be in sync. I've started to get a penchant for Uncial writing too at the moment. It's one of the first scripts I learnt nearly 6 year's ago now. Been blogging very infrequently. Back on board - I think ;-)

    Bella can kiss one hand
    I'll kiss another,
    unless you have three
    In which case
    I'll kiss both
    while she does the other.

It's too early and I am still awed by your work Lisa. Truly awesome.
