My latest work, for one of the artist's in my round robin journal group, was chosen to fit her theme of Legends & Myths. She wanted a good story and is partial to winged creatures. Pegasus seemed like the perfect choice. For the calligraphy I used walnut ink in her handmade book along with colored pencils and gold gouache. This was a fun theme and I really enjoyed doing the uncial lettering which I haven't done in quite some time.

Oh, my goodness, Lisa. I am in awe of your talents!! Amazing!! Hugs, Silke
ReplyDeleteWonderful!!!!! I love it and love those uncial letterforms. I need to practice my uncials, and my copperplate, and my foundational,my Romans (especially my Romans!) and...on and on!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful letters! Hand lettered pages have such character to them - they are so much more appealing than mass produced text that we're all so used to!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Lisa! You should quit your day job and do this kind of thing for a living.... ; ) Now I know why you're not taking my uncial class this time around! {giggle}
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I especially love your illumination on the "T"

ReplyDeleteHa - we seem to be in sync. I've started to get a penchant for Uncial writing too at the moment. It's one of the first scripts I learnt nearly 6 year's ago now. Been blogging very infrequently. Back on board - I think ;-)
