Soul Painting

I've really been enjoying these handful of paintings on canvas that I've been doing. This is the first one I've done for myself. It's also the largest piece I've done at 20 x 24.
A friend told me about Charles Pearce who is absolutely amazing. This is definitely inspired by his work.

Although I had intended to keep this for myself, I am now donating it to an auction to raise funds for the Society for Calligraphy. Hopefully someone will buy it and I'll get started on my next painting. Maybe that one I'll keep!

  5. Hi Lisa,
This piece is stunning and your letterforms are beautiful! I took a class will Charles Pearce at a conference year ago and did a large piece on canvas. It was amazing to watch him. He was creating the most beautiful piece on canvas with the most beautiful lettering and he didn't like it and threw black paint all over it! We all gasp in horror!
